The Newfoundland Club of America and the 2020 National Specialty Show Committee regret to inform you that, upon the advisement of respected health care professionals and in accordance with the latest recommendations from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, we will be cancelling the 2020 National Specialty scheduled for April 24 – May 2, 2020.
This decision was reached after much thought and discussion and was not made lightly. At the end of the day, the safety and wellbeing of all our members and those planning to attend is of primary importance.
Please be patient as we work through the details of cancellations and refunds. We will communicate the process to you in a clear and timely manner. We thank you all for your support and understanding of this necessary decision.

The 2020 National Specialty Show Committee has an exciting week full of activities that combine a bit of the traditional while adding some new twists for everyone to enjoy!
Can’t relive the past? Of course you can! Be it the jazz music of the Cotton Club in Harlem or the elegance of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby, the spirit of the 1920’s was exuberant and indulgent, defying Prohibition to partake in new styles of fashion and dancing. A century later, our 2020 National Specialty hopes to capture the fun and excitement of the Roaring 20’s while celebrating all things Newf. We are pleased to offer a wide variety of events, for both our two and four legged guests!
New this year and sure to be on everyone’s dance card is a Best In Show movie night & fantasy dog show and a Late-Night Speakeasy hospitality suite with cocktails and dancing. “Who Done It?” is the question asked at Friday’s Auction. In the style of popular “murder mystery” dinners, we invite you to a spaghetti dinner where we will attempt to solve the mystery of who stole the diamond Newf pendant. Six special auction items will be offered exclusively at the Mystery Dinner. We have many other wonderful items available for online bids throughout the week culminating in awarding them with final bids open to everyone over complimentary desert. Guys and dolls, prepare yourselves for the epic finale of a spectacular week, a dinner dance with a live jazz band worthy of Jay Gatsby and friends!
