WATER TRAINING

The goal of the water training sessions are to prepare the dogs for the NCA Water Tests. Training for WD, WRD, and WRDX will be accommodated.  Both experienced and dogs new to water training are welcome.  Handlers will be expected to make time to do Land Training at home between water sessions in order to keep their dog progressing.

There will be a $10 fee for each dog, per day, to pay the required lifeguard at the lake.

All dogs are required to be leashed or crated if they are not working in the water.  All participants working in or near the water must wear a life vest and water shoes.  Dogs may wear a life vest, but it is not required.

  We recommend the book, Water Dog Water Play by Judy Adler if you would like to get started with the Land Training exercises at home, learn about the required equipment and review the test exercises.
